Workshop Controller

Van Mossel Jackson Jersey is seeking an experienced workshop controller to lead a team of technicians.
Reporting To
Service Manager / Aftersales Director
Main Purpose of Job
The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and profitability. This includes managing staff performance, monitoring progress using the workshop control system, and keeping Service Advisors regularly updated on vehicle status.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support technicians to ensure all repairs and servicing are completed within agreed timelines and to manufacturer standards.
- Oversee the completion and accuracy of all Vehicle Health Checks (VHCs) and ensure repair times are correctly recorded.
- Maintain workshop discipline, safety, and adherence to company procedures and manufacturer bulletins.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and technical resources are kept clean, up to date, and in proper working order.
- Conduct quality control checks, including test drives, to ensure all work meets required standards.
- Approve job cards, monitor time allocation, and ensure all additional work is properly authorised and documented.
- Manage warranty processes, ensuring correct parts retention and accurate claim submissions.
- Coordinate technician training and development, including apprentices, to maintain a skilled and motivated team.
- Work closely with Service Advisors, Parts, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
- Promote a positive working environment, motivating the workshop team to achieve targets and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and enforce Health & Safety practices across the workshop, ensuring full compliance with company policies.
